Industry: Food & Beverage

Press Release Summary: Food consumers are swiftly changing habits and waking up to
false economy, claims frozen food specialist.

Press Release Body: \"As consumer food bills continue to soar, filling the trolley
with value ranges and chasing promotional offers aren't the only habits worth
considering\", says Martin Darnley, co-owner of frozen food delivery operation
goodtastefoods.co.uk. "Sales within the frozen food sector are thriving as the
category is attracting hordes of new customers keen to cut family food costs in the
wake of widespread inflation."

Up until recently, British households were throwing away nearly 30% of bought food
due to the simple fact of waste. According to The Daily Mail Cost of Living Index,
recently published, the cost of a shopping basket of 40 essentials has increased by
19.8 per cent over the last year. It found the rate of food inflation is now at a
surprising 12.6 per cent. Rising food prices mixed with a rise in the cost of
mortgage repayments and household bills, is pushing millions of families into the
red.

\"Both wealthy and poorer shoppers are noticing the price pinch.
Cooking only just what you need to use is key and the supermarket 'buy one get one
free' deals are so often a false economy. Our customers experience no wastage and
can budget per portion for sometimes three or four family meals from one delivery. I
can see our frozen food delivery service playing a more active role with consumers
who, until very recently, solely relied on supermarkets. We are currently
experimenting with repositioning our consumer awareness towards time-challenged
families and individuals who are enthusiastic about cooking good quality food yet
don't want to see their food money end up in the dustbin. \"
